Olympian to speak at AFA’s October conference
The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has named Australian Olympic champion Cathy Freeman as the keynote speaker at its Vision Conference, which will be broadcast from Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art on October 14-15.
This year’s line-up also includes gold medallist and five-times Olympian Natalie Cook, Chicago-based Head of Decision Sciences at Morningstar Ryan Murphy and Assistant Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and Financial Technology Jane Hume,, who will open the conference.
Also appearing is high-performance manager Darren Burgess, who worked with Arsenal in the English Premier League as well as Liverpool Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club. He will share his thoughts on how advisers can build resilience and manage teams for optimal performance. He is sponsored by Zurich and OnePath.
Futurist Dr Catherine Ball, sponsored by AIA, will speak on the ethics of automation in the digital age and future technology challenges and opportunities.
Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services. Stephen Jones will open day two of the conference.
The AFA Conference will also feature panel sessions with regulators, economists, insurers, CEOs, technology experts and licensees.
The live component will be complemented by more than 25 on-demand presentations, a virtual exhibition of partners and sponsors and a virtual community event on the evening of October 14. Delegates will have four-months of access to tailor their own viewing schedule.
