New MLC chief Hagger joins FSC board
The Financial Services Council (FSC) has appointed MLC’s new CEO Andrew Hagger to its board.
He replaces Steve Tucker, who left MLC last month after a management reshuffle.
Perpetual CEO Geoff Lloyd rejoins the board after a three-year absence; he was previously a director from 2008 to 2010.
The third new director is Australian Unity CEO Investments David Bryant.
Mr Lloyd and Mr Bryant replace Pauline Blight-Johnston, who will soon join AMP; Joyce Phillips, who was promoted to CEO at ANZ Global Wealth last month; and Gerard Doherty, who recently stepped down as CEO of Fidelity Worldwide Investment.
“We welcome the breadth and depth of experience these directors bring to the board,” FSC Chairman Peter Maher said.
“They have accepted appointments to the FSC board at a time of significant transformation for financial services in Australia − an industry that is now well positioned to become Australia’s next major area of growth.”
Meanwhile, the FSC has announced its annual conference will be in Brisbane from July 31 to August 2.
The theme is “Beyond”, and the event will reflect the implementation and execution of various regulatory reforms that take effect on July 1.
