NAB EGM Retail Wealth Duncan West has been replaced by global career banker David Hackett.

A NAB spokesman confirmed to insuranceNEWS.com.au that Mr West was replaced in the role at the beginning of last month and decided to leave the company.

“Mr Hackett’s appointment came after Mr West made the decision to leave NAB & MLC a few months ago,” she said. “Mr West is further pursuing his non-executive positions.”

Mr West was a former CEO of CGU and Vero and was appointed EGM Retail Wealth at NAB in April this year. He joined MLC in 2011.

The role includes responsibility for insurance products and underwriting, distribution, claims and the chief actuary.

Mr Hackett was NAB’s CFO products and markets for three years prior to his new appointment.
