Munich Re has united its retail, direct and group life operations under one management team led by Frank Crapis.

Sydney-based Mr Crapis joined the reinsurer six months ago as business manager for retail life, but he has now been appointed Head of Client Solutions, with a team of six executives.

Munich Re says the team is “responsible for the overall business relationship and support services for existing life insurance clients and prospects”.

“The role will… lead the life industry through industry forums and committees and requires a detailed understanding of regulatory and environmental matters that might affect a client’s business,” a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Crapis was previously head of industry fund group insurance at CommInsure.
