Munich Re has promoted Nicolas Carro to Life & Health CEO of Australasia, with responsibility for operations in Australia and New Zealand.

He was previously CFO of the Australasia life and health business, and has held various finance and capital management roles at both its Munich headquarters and in Australia.

Mr Carro takes over from Andrew Linfoot, who will move to a regional role after six years in the position. Mr Carro will report to Munich Re’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Life & Health CEO Daniel Cossette.

Mr Cossette says the appointment will ensure the reinsurer can continue to build a sustainable business and provide clients with local technical expertise and international capabilities.

Mr Carro will start in the role on January 1.
