MLC upgrades claims management software

MLC Life is using technology from international software provider ClaimVantage in its claims transformation program.

ClaimVantage has started processing MLC’s retail income protection and total and permanent disability claims using its ClaimFirst system – cloud-based, automated life and health claim software created on the Force.com platform.

MLC Acting GM Claims Natalie Eckersall says the claims transformation started with the objective of supporting customers in their time of need.

“We want to manage claims quickly and with a minimum of fuss and ensure our customers have a clear understanding of both the process and the timeframe,” she said.

“We have removed traditional claims forms so we can work directly with the customer to get the information that is required quickly and efficiently.

“ClaimFirst is supporting this by allowing MLC to capture information in real time while on the phone to the customer.”

ClaimVantage Regional Director Geoff Street says the software will help the life insurer make faster claims decisions.

“The claims process can often be cumbersome and complex, and the ClaimFirst software can address this problem,” he said.

“It provides MLC with a centralised, digital database to store all claims information.”
