MLC Life has named Peter Smith as Head of Business Development, in a move that it says “cements its focus on the group insurance market”.

Mr Smith will be responsible for growing MLC Life’s group insurance distribution and integrating new digital capabilities for customers.

He previously held leadership roles at Resolution Life, Met Life, as well as Munich Re and Lockton. He has also worked to develop insurance solutions for groups such as Cbus, First Super and Hostplus.

MLC Life CEO Kent Griffin says Mr Smith is a “key appointment” for the insurer, denoting its focus on delivering benefits for trustees and superannuation fund members.
