MLC Life Insurance has appointed Melissa Ammon as chief risk officer.

She has held the role in an acting capacity since last September, replacing Jane McGovern, who was appointed chief customer and strategy officer.

Before joining the insurer in 2023 as GM risk, Ms Ammon held senior risk, compliance and business transformation roles at icare in NSW and Commonwealth Bank.

Her responsibilities will include the insurer’s risk, compliance, governance and legal teams.

“Since joining MLC Life Insurance, Melissa has driven a positive uplift in our risk capability,” CEO and MD Kent Griffin said.

“She has also done a fantastic job leading our risk, compliance, governance and legal function during what has become a time of significant change for our business.”
