MetLife has been awarded life insurance company of the year at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards.

The awards – held by the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Awards – were held in Sydney last week. It is now in its 16th year.

The judges singled out MetLife’s continued emphasis on customer satisfaction and industry contributions, as well as caring for its employees through internal training and professional development support, and its willingness to address feedback directly with stakeholders.

MetLife CEO Richard Nunn says the award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff and what the company has achieved in the last year.

“While it’s a challenging time for the industry, we’ve kept our focus on customers, striving to give them the fastest, easiest, and most caring life insurance experience. We’re using innovation to support them when they need it most … empowering them to take action and ensure their cover provides the right level of protection throughout their lives,” he said.
