MetLife supports advisers with confronting new podcast
MetLife has advised listener discretion due to the confronting content of its latest ‘MetLife Insights’ podcast which aims to raise awareness about mental health and suicide among advisers and encourage them to seek help.
The latest episode, which is part of a mental health support program launched by MetLife in October, features the wife of an adviser who took his own life a year ago. In a powerful interview with Metlife National Retail Distribution Manager Rachel Towell, she talks candidly about what happened in the lead-up to her husband’s death, his struggle and the impact on his family.
Suicide among financial advisers is more than three times higher than the national average and is estimated to have increased again last year.
The new podcast is the 10th in an ongoing series supporting advisers in a rapidly changing COVID-19 environment and can be accessed here. If you or someone you know needs help, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636.
