Former Suncorp executive Gerard McDermott has joined MetLife Australia as Chief Strategy and Customer Officer.

He was most recently personal injury insurer EML’s group executive for workers’ compensation, and before that head of general insurance with Westpac.

Mr also several held leadership roles during an 11-year career with Suncorp, including EGM personal insurance distribution, running the group’s authorised representative network Resilium.
