MetLife offers premium waiver to flood-affected policyholders
MetLife Australia will waive premiums for three months to provide relief to customers who have been affected by recent floods in New South Wales and Queensland.
Thousands of people across the two states lost homes and livelihoods, and MetLife says it will offer the waiver to retail customers with a current individual insurance policy.
“We want to take some financial pressure off them while they get back on their feet,” Chief Retail Insurance Officer Meray El-Khoury said.
“This is a way that we can help at this time of need. It is one of the ways we demonstrate we are always there for our customers, helping them build a confident financial future.”
The waiver is available on request for the period of March 10 to June 10 for customers within flood areas designated on the Australian government Disaster Assist website. Advisers can contact MetLife on behalf of their clients to take up the offer where appropriate.
