Life practice joins forces with Sydney accountants
MBS Insurance has formed a joint venture with Pitcher Partners Sydney to sell life insurance to the business advisory group’s clients.
The operation, called Pitcher Partners Sydney Insurance Services, will also give MBS clients access to Pitcher Partners services.
MBS Insurance partner Kris Mason says the number of products and the complexity across insurance inside and outside superannuation confuses many consumers.
“Many super clients are simply not aware of the terms and conditions of their fund that can be changed by the trustee without reference to the member,” he said. “The joint venture will be able to provide clients with a detailed review of their insurance and advise if the cover is appropriate to their needs and expectations.”
Mr Mason says the joint venture’s various areas of expertise can help arrange insurance in a complex, constantly changing economy.
“Through our shared initiative, we will be able to offer a specialised service platform to address the insurance needs of clients by providing our collective experience and knowledge,” he said.
Pitcher Partners Sydney partner Charlie Viola says offering insurance is a specialist role.
“The importance of insurance protection in any business undertaking or wealth creation aspiration cannot be underestimated,” he said.
“Insurance is highly complex and care needs to be taken to ensure the correct product and offering is utilised to address each and every individual requirement.
“Contrary to many of the advertisements that proclaim insurance can be purchased online or over the phone as a ‘one-size-fits-all solution’, this is not the case in reality, especially for high-net-worth professionals and business owners.”
MBS Insurance was established in 2006 and is led by Mr Mason, Trevor Shipton and Drew Burden.
The practice is part of the Bombora Advice dealer group and has two life insurance advisers in addition to the three partners.
