A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Investment and Financial Services Association (IFSA) and a group called the Mental Health Sector Stakeholders (MHSS), dedicated to improving communication and education, complaints resolution and underwriting claims.

IFSA and representatives from its member committees have conducted intense discussions over the last 16 months on issues surrounding depressive illness and access to risk products. The insurance industry, along with other industry sectors, has been working with the groups that form the MHSS to develop solutions to issues surrounding depressive illness.
