Life insurance buyers move online
More people are choosing to go online to buy life insurance rather than see a financial planner, according to Allianz Australia.
A survey of Allianz’s life insurance customers has found 80% prefer direct insurance because of the low premiums (64%), the ability to apply and buy online (57%) and because Allianz is a well-known brand.
Allianz Australia Life CEO Jonathan Poole says life insurance, disability and critical illness protection is affordable and easy to access over the internet, with the application and approval process now taking less than 12 minutes.
The survey has also found most customers (80%) take out life insurance to protect their family in the event of death or disability.
Nearly 30% take out insurance to cover unplanned costs such as funeral expenses while 63% are most concerned about their family mortgage.
