Insurance included in financial planning week
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) will be promoting general insurance as part of its Financial Planning Week, which began yesterday.
Insurance will be one of five practical tips being offered to consumers to help them obtain financial security.
FPA CEO Mark Rantall says the advice is telling consumers to look and see if they have enough general insurance to protect themselves in the event of a disaster.
“That means enough to properly provide for yourself and your family and for your business too in case of death or disability, as well as having health insurance, and general insurance on your home and its contents,” he said.
Financial Planning Week is now in its 11th year and involves members from all 32 FPA national chapters taking part.
Other initiatives of the week include an online “ask an expert” service that will remain open for five weeks.
Consumers can email a question to a panel of FPA members on the association’s advice website.
Last year the initiative saw 170 financial advisers respond to 430 questions during the five-week period.
