Inquiry into Storm kicks off

A public examination into collapsed investment firm Storm Financial began at the Federal Court in Brisbane late last week.

A court spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au around 60 witnesses are expected to give evidence – a combination of individuals and organisations – and the examination will run over three weeks until October 30.

The examination is being held before Deputy District Registrar Heather Baldwin, who will this week hear evidence from Storm founders Emmanuel and Julie Cassimatis, senior company executive Michael Fenech and former Storm staffer David McCullough.

The Bank of Queensland and the Commonwealth Bank are also expected to provide records of their business with Storm.
