Howard to open AFA conference

Former prime minister John Howard will deliver the opening address at the Association of Financial Advisers’ (AFA) conference in Canberra on October 5.

He will discuss his vision for the global economy, and how China, India and the Pacific Rim will participate.

Best-selling author Margie Warrell will speak at the Inspire Masterclass during the three-day conference, discussing her background in business, psychology and executive coaching.

AFA CEO Brad Fox says the conference is a place for inspiration and motivation.

“Financial advice is going through adaptive change, the marketplace continues to evolve at a rapid pace and the paradigms for financial advice continue to shift,” he said.

“The purpose of the AFA National Adviser Conference is to bring together professional financial advisers, practice owners and their support teams, thought leaders and other industry participants to empower them to deliver great advice for more Australians. Also to enable them to create the adaptive change that will take financial advice beyond the horizon.”

Registrations for the conference are open, with the early bird rate and current-year tax deductions available until June 30. Register here.
