Health providers form joint venture

Three health services support companies have joined forces to provide medical risk management for the life and general insurance industries.

The SR2 Health partnership comprises Lifescreen, Medical Record Exchange and Corporate Health Services.

SR2 Director Corporate Development Brett Wheatley says the three groups will continue to operate separately under their own brands.

“We are offering a consultative service to the insurance industry as well as corporate health and workers’ compensation,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“We are here to [help] organisations take a broader view on where their services are at and help with underperforming parts of their business.”

Mr Wheatley says the three partners’ different strengths will complement each other when advising insurers.

“We are coming from a medical and clinical background rather than pushing a product,” he said. “SR2 is a distribution model for delivering the appropriate advice.”

Lifescreen has 300 medical professionals delivering paramedical, pathology and workplace health services to the life insurance industry.

Medical Record Exchange provides information services, from nurse interviews and the collection of underwriting support data to detailed claims reports.

Corporate Health Services provides medical risk management advice and specialist assessments to insurers, statutory authorities and corporations.

All three deal with many life insurers and Mr Wheatley says there will be no conflicts of interest.

“The companies will be offering enhanced services to their clients using services from the three organisations,” he said. “If there was a service not provided by the three partners, another affiliated organisation can be brought in to help the client.”
