Suncorp Life has confirmed the appointment of Sean Carroll as Executive GM for Life Risk Australia, based in Sydney.

Mr Carroll has been acting in the role for the past five months while also managing Suncorp’s life business in New Zealand.

He started his career at Sun Alliance in the UK before moving to Sydney in 1995 to become its product development actuary.

Since then, Mr Carroll has been director of life and funds management in Asia for Royal SunAlliance, and GM Life Risk at Asteron from 2000 until 2004, when he moved to New Zealand.

Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes says Mr Carroll “will continue to provide his oversight supporting Acting EGM for NZ Grant Willis until a replacement is announced”.
