Group life industry makes premium gains
Group life premium inflow grew 15.1% to $5.6 billion in the year to March 31, according to the latest figures from Plan For Life.
AIA’s group life premium increased 23% to $1.4 billion, while CommInsure was up 23% to $747 million and MLC gained 20% to $512 million.
Individual lump sum premium inflow grew 6.3% to $6.4 billion for the year.
Insurers reporting the greatest lump sum growth were TAL, gaining 6.4% to $670 million, and OnePath, up 6% to $815 million.
Income protection premium inflow grew 5.7% to $2.4 billion in the year to March 31.
BT led the way with premium inflow up 20% to $235 million, followed by TAL with 11.8% growth to $258 million and OnePath, rising 11.2% to $312 million.
