Green takes top job at AIA Australia

Newly appointed AIA Australia CEO Damien Green is looking forward to the challenge of leading one of the country’s largest insurers in life risk.

His appointment follows the departure of previous CEO Stuart Harrison to join Axa General Insurance in Hong Kong.

Mr Green joined AIA in 2006 as head of group insurance and has also served as AIA Australia’s GM Insurance.

The AIA group has been operating in Asia for more than 75 years and now has 20 million customers and 20,000 employees across 15 countries. It has 400 employees in Australia.

“It’s a stunning opportunity right now,” Mr Green told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “AIA is a well-respected player in the life risk space in Australia and number six in the market with 9% market share in life risk growth. Our focus will be increasingly customer-centric.”
