MetLife has appointed Head of Employee Benefits in Asia Damian Green as interim CEO of Australia.

Mr Green joined MetLife last year, having previously run AIA’s group life, health and pensions lines in 15 Asian countries. He has also served as CEO of AIA Australia.

He will keep his employee benefits role while filling the local CEO position until a successor is found for outgoing Australian chief Marc Lieberman.

MetLife Head of Designated Markets and Health Nirmala Menon says Mr Green has more than 10 years’ industry experience, expertise in group cover and in-depth knowledge of the Australian market. 

“Australia is an important market for MetLife and we have a robust business and a strong senior management team in the country,” Ms Menon said.
