The Financial Services Council (FSC) has appointed AIA Australia CEO Damian Mu to its board.

He joined AIA Australia in 2007 and has served as head of group insurance, chief distribution and marketing officer and GM life insurance. He became CEO in August.

Mr Mu has also worked as operations manager with Australian Super and national manager for insurance and claims services at Superpartners.

The board now includes life industry representatives Mr Mu, BT Financial Group CEO Brad Cooper, Challenger CEO Brian Benari, AMP Group Executive of Insurance and Super Pauline Blight-Johnston, MLC CEO Andrew Hagger, Commonwealth Bank Group Executive Wealth Management Annabel Spring and Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes.
