FPA prepares for dream week

The theme for this year’s 16th Financial Planning Week is “Dare to Dream”, with social commentator and author Jane Caro the campaign ambassador.

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) will release a national consumer research report for members during the week, starting next Monday. The study, undertaken by McCrindle Research, examines Australians’ attitudes to their hopes, dreams and financial futures.

Other initiatives during the week include a series of videos, a shareable social media quiz and a toolkit for FPA members.

FPA CEO Dante De Gori says the theme aims to help raise consumer awareness about the importance of professional financial advice.

“Financial planning is about so much more than solving money problems,” he said.

“It is about identifying life goals, hopes and dreams, and mapping a financial path to achieving them.”

Mr De Gori says the member toolkit will give access to consumer-facing assets that can be shared with current and potential clients.

“The aim is to include all members in Financial Planning Week and to provide them with a ready-to-go marketing kit,” he said.

“As more and more Australians recognise that financial planners can help them achieve their dreams, the number of people using a financial planner will rise.”
