FPA launches life risk course for planners
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is expecting thousands of financial planners to sign up to its new educational program on life risk.
GM Professionalism Deen Sanders says the association has responded to members’ demands “from a very wide pool” in developing the course.
“It is geared to the fact that life risk advice has been undervalued over the past few years following the financial services reforms,” Mr Sanders told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“This is designed for people who want to specialise in that space.”
Deakin University corporate education body DeakinPrime is accepting enrolments in the FPA specialist accreditation program until August 1.
FPA CEO Jo-Anne Bloch says the course “fills an enormous hole” created by the ending of the association’s life underwriting program more than a decade ago.
Financial planner graduates will be entitled to use the life risk specialist (LRS) honorific.
