FPA launches guides for Financial Planning Week

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) will launch a range of consumer tools during Financial Planning Week, which starts today.

A new website – fpadifference.com.au – gives information on choosing a financial planner, explains the benefits of doing so and includes testimonials and a plain-English explanation of the Future of Financial Advice reforms.

A new ask an expertonline forum allows consumers to question FPA planners.

Consumer guides to financial advice will also be launched.

FPA CEO Mark Rantall says Financial Planning Week is an important initiative to increase consumer confidence and trust in the industry.

“The tools we’re launching… are great for members looking to add value with their clients and demystify financial planning for consumers,” he said.

“We’ve had a great response from our members already, with more than 3000 of our new consumer brochures on financial planning already on request.

“In addition, we also have several chapters around the nation hosting Financial Planning Week-related events for members and consumers.”

People who have a dedicated financial planner are more likely to feel financially secure, Mr Rantall says.
