FPA issues planners with advice standards
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has released new practice standards for consumer advice.
The professional standards outline planners’ obligations to clients, and also act as a transparent guide for consumers.
The four professional practice standards are quality client engagement, quality client information, providing quality recommendations and providing quality advice.
FPA members have until May 2 to submit feedback on the four standards, which are due to come into effect in July. Full compliance will be required by July 2009.
