FPA extends fee-for-service comment deadline
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has agreed to members’ requests to extend the deadline for comments on its consultation paper calling for a move away from commissions to fees.
Members will now have until June 30 to make their submissions.
The FPA has come under considerable fire over its proposal that financial planners move to a fee-based remuneration system from 2012.
CEO Jo-Anne Bloch says the association has received a high number of submissions voicing a range of opinions on the proposal.
“The FPA is committed to hearing from as many members as possible to ensure the outcome is one that’s suitable for the profession and consumers,” she said. “It is for this reason we have extended the date for submissions.”
