FPA extends expert service

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is to continue its free “Ask an Expert” service until the end of the financial year.

The service was due to end in early June, but FPA CEO Mark Rantall says the response has encouraged the association to keep the lines open longer.

“Our free online financial advice service proved really popular during Financial Planning Week,” he said. “We now hope Australians will continue to seek our advice as they prepare for the end of financial year.”

The service enabled consumers to talk to financial planners online.

To date the FPA has received more then 245 queries, but the association was unable to break down for insuranceNEWS.com.au how many of these related to life insurance questions.

In the first week of the service it received 98 questions, but only one was on life insurance.

The questions received by the FPA covered topics such as superannuation, investing, finding a financial adviser and the cost of advice.
