FPA conference examines industry reform, technology
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) Professionals Congress in Brisbane will discuss the impact of financial reforms on risk advice.
Personal Risk Professionals MD Mark Everingham will lead sessions examining how impending changes will affect advisers.
FPA GM Policy and Conduct Dante De Gori will take part in one of the two sessions featuring Mr Everingham.
The impact of disruptive technology – especially “robo-advice” – on financial planners will also be discussed.
“Disruptive technology is definitely affecting financial planners,” the FPA Congress website says. “The rise of robo-advice is taken as a threat to many planners, but could it present opportunities instead?”
Paul Derham and Grant Holley, partners with commercial and financial services law firm Holley Nethercote, will lead the session called Robo-Advice: Terminator or Wall-E.
The congress is from November 18-20 at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
