FPA adds to lobbying personnel

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has enhanced its lobbying power with two new appointments.

Ben Marshan becomes Head of Policy, while Dimitri Diamantes takes the role of Policy Manager.

Mr Marshan has been with the FPA for six months as professional standards advocacy manager. He previously spent nine years at State Super Financial Services as an adviser, and holds Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and life insurance specialist designations.

Mr Diamantes previously led the technical services divisions at Asteron Life, Midwinter Financial Services and Zurich. His new job will focus on promoting the interests of members and consumers through submissions to government, with member input a key priority.

CEO Dante De Gori says the appointments will further strengthen the FPA’s policy focus.

“They are both CFP professionals with a deep understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the financial planning process,” he said. “We recently surpassed 12,000 members and affiliates. With that comes a diverse need for member support, and our growing team will ensure members feel supported over the coming years.”

The FPA has also appointed Jason Tattershall as Head of Advice Partnerships and Membership. He has more than 20 years’ financial industry experience and 11 years’ experience in the planning industry at Bridges Financial Services.

Mr De Gori says members and partners will benefit from Mr Tattershall’s industry relationships and mentorship skills. “His insight and breadth of experience will be an asset to our team. We are committed to supporting members in their businesses.”
