TAL has appointed Roger Garrett, the former Head of Life at Munich Re Australasia, to its board.

Mr Garrett has an extensive actuarial and reinsurance background, and retired earlier this year. Before joining Munich Re he worked for NZI Life and the Bank of New Zealand.

He will also sit on the TAL Life board.

TAL has also appointed TY Japan Consulting MD Tatsuya Yasukawa to the board.

Before establishing his own consultancy in 2003, Mr Yasukawa worked with the Industrial Bank of Japan and SG Warburg in London and Tokyo, and Matsushita Investment & Development in Sydney and the Gold Coast.
