AIA Australia has appointed former Future Fund GM Paul Costello to its board.

More recently Mr Costello has been Chairman of the Stronger Super Peak Consultative Group.

AIA Australia Chairman Theresa Gattung says the appointment is in line with the insurer’s move to build on its partnerships with corporate and industry super funds as well as financial advisers.

“Mr Costello’s knowledge, experience and strong stature within the financial services industry make him a great addition as AIA Australia continues to grow,” she said.

“His counsel will prove invaluable as we navigate this period of industry change and he will assist us to remain flexible to change while providing support to our partners and clients.”

Mr Costello will help the insurer with strategic guidance on its Australian operations as well as the growth of its direct and retail businesses.
