Former ANZ adviser banned
A former Queensland representative of ANZ-owned Millennium3 Financial Services has been permanently banned from the industry.
Neil Trower failed to provide clients with statements of advice, as required by financial regulations, and “applied the signatures” of some clients to documents to pass an internal compliance audit, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) says.
This behaviour occurred between August and December 2015.
“Certain compliance requirements are in place for advisers to ensure they are meeting their obligations to clients, and to ensure they act honestly and with integrity,” ASIC Deputy Chairman Peter Kell said. “Anyone whose conduct falls short of these standards will be removed from the financial services industry.”
Mr Trower is also a former employee of Lifestyle Financial Services, a corporate representative of Millennium3.
He has the right to appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
