The Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) has named the winners of its inaugural excellence awards, launched after the peak body was created this year from the merger of the Association of Financial Advisers and Financial Planning Association.

Martin McGrath of Financial Edge Group in NSW took home the Certified Financial Planner of the Year honours, Sacha Burchgart from Burcheart in NSW was Adviser of the Year and Cara Williams from Sufficient Funds in Queensland won the Inspire Women Excellence in Advice prize.

In the three remaining categories, Boutique Advisers from WA won Professional Practice of the Year, Jayden Adams from Adams Financial Group in Queensland the Gen Next Rising Star and Jacob Eliopoulos of Deakin University the University Student of the Year.

“The Awards recognise those who have delivered the highest standard of advice and represent the bright future of financial planning,” FAAA CEO Sarah Abood said.

“I congratulate all the winners at this year’s FAAA Awards.  It has been a pleasure to witness the passion and dedication that they bring to their roles.
