Former Tower MD Rob Flannagan has been appointed Chairman of the New Zealand Financial Services Council.

He replaces former prime minister Jenny Shipley, who left in February to chair the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority.

Mr Flannagan is also Chairman of Guardian Trust and a director of Airwork Holdings, Global Film Solutions and the Ministry of Education Infrastructure Advisory Board.
