Freedom Insurance Group has appointed Craig Orton to the newly created role of COO.

Mr Orton was previously EM life and group at Suncorp, and has held senior positions at ESG Reinsurance, Aegon Direct and XL Catlin.

He will report to Freedom MD Keith Cohen and be responsible for the insurer’s marketing, operations, sales and new projects.

“The creation of the COO position will improve Freedom’s operational effectiveness to support business growth,” Mr Cohen said.
