Events will push for more female planners
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is supporting an expanded series of networking events that aim to encourage the advancement of women in the profession.
The events, held in conjunction with advocacy group Financial Executive Women, have been developed to promote mentoring opportunities and to support career progression.
FPA CEO Dante De Gori says women represent 26% of the association’s membership, and only 20% of the profession, yet research shows consumer demand for female financial planners is growing.
“The profession and consumers will benefit from greater gender balance,” he said.
“The FPA is committed to supporting more women to consider a career in financial planning as well as to progress from financial associate roles to achieve the highest designation in financial planning.”
Mr De Gori says the FPA Women in Wealth events had been expanded to include Adelaide this year, following the success of the program last year.
The Adelaide event will be held tomorrow, followed by events in Sydney on October 17 and Brisbane on October 24.
