Electronic processing for ClearView advisers

ClearView will introduce electronic applications for its LifeSolutions product from next Monday, Victorian State Manager Tony Schiavello says.

“Advisers will be able to obtain a quote and then submit the application,” he said. “We will also be introducing an underwriting tracking tool and client portfolio reporting to enable advisers to manage applications and their clients’ insurance.”

Mr Schiavello says ClearView will introduce straight-through underwriting later this year.

The insurer is also expanding its presence in Australia, according to GM Distribution Todd Kardash.

“We want to expand our distribution footprint and will create a presence in WA,” he said. “This is part of an expansion that will also see the underwriting team grow to nine people by the end of the month.”

Meanwhile, Mr Kardash has attacked the Financial Services Council’s adviser remuneration policy.

“We have seen the draft proposal and we are still not happy with it,” he said. “We think there are bigger issues to deal with than advisers moving policies.”

Mr Kardash says ClearView will continue to fight the proposal “as it is not a pressing issue”.
