Digital strategist to open FPA congress

Prominent digital strategist Chris Riddell will deliver the first keynote speech at the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) annual Professionals Congress in Brisbane.

In keeping with the event’s “Shaping Futures” theme, Mr Riddell will discuss emerging trends and behaviours facing the Australian business community.

“The FPA is delighted to have a speaker who will bring to the table exciting new ideas that align with our forward-looking theme,” CEO Mark Rantall said.

“Digital disruption and new technology are big topics currently, and Chris will share his knowledge and help planners navigate the new landscape.”

Experts warn financial advisers risk losing touch with their increasingly tech-savvy clients if they fail to bridge the digital divide.

The FPA says this year’s conference attendance could top last year’s.

“We had almost 1000 delegates attend last year’s congress in Adelaide, with a high number of those practitioners,” Mr Rantall said. “We expect registrations to fill up fast again and are prepared for even higher numbers this year.”

The congress takes place from November 18-20.
