CountPlus seals acquisition of Accurium
Accountant and adviser group CountPlus has completed its $9 million acquisition of Accurium, the largest supplier of self-managed superannuation fund actuarial certificates in Australia with a 45% market share.
CountPlus announced last month it was buying the business from Challenger, funding the purchase through a combination of cash and debt.
It now holds an 85% stake in the business, with key management personnel of Accurium owning the other 15%.
Accurium achieved $7.1 million in revenues for the last financial year, and $2.8 million in pre-tax earnings.
CountPlus has previously made investments in “core-related” diversification activities, the business said.
“These are opportunities to invest in activities that are concerned with inputs/outputs (downstream) into core firm related activities.
“Its preference is to make investments into activities that have a regulatory aspect or that enable/enhance core firm activities.”
