CommInsure secures group life mandate
CommInsure has won the group life mandate for the Nationwide Superannuation Fund (NSF), replacing MetLife.
It comes after CommInsure lost a number of major mandates last year, including TWU Super, NGS Super and CareSuper, to rivals TAL and MetLife.
The NSF contract will begin in July following a competitive open-market tender process.
NSF CEO Ian Morante says the fund is impressed with CommInsure’s initiatives encouraging members to interact digitally, including online claims lodgement and underwriting, plus a health and wellbeing program for fund members.
“The fund was extremely pleased with the outcome of the tender,” he said.
“Appointing CommInsure fits well with the increased focus the fund has on digital and electronic interaction with members and employers.”
CommInsure GM Life Product and Distribution Craig Harrison says the insurer will provide death, total and permanent disability, and income protection cover.
“Our tailored product, claims and service offering for NSF members is underpinned by ongoing investment in our digital capability,” he said.
“We look forward to working with NSF to deliver long-term value to its members.”
