ClearView Wealth appoints CEO as MD retires

ClearView Wealth announced today the appointment of Nadine Gooderick as CEO, effective July 1, taking over the reins from MD Simon Swanson who is retiring after 12 years leading the business.

Ms Gooderick, who is currently Group Executive Technology and Development, joined the business in October 2020 as GM Transformation. She was appointed to her current role in August last year, overseeing ClearView’s technology, data and marketing functions.

Before ClearView, she spent almost 25 years at RGA Reinsurance, including the last eight as COO for Australia and New Zealand from 2011 to 2019.

“[She] is a well-respected, proven business leader with over 25 years’ life insurance experience working across the Asia Pacific region,” Chair Geoff Black said in a statement.

“Through this experience, [she] has brought fresh ideas and disciplines to ClearView since joining in 2020, reinforcing the board’s preference for an internal appointment.”

Mr Swanson will retire from his role on July 1.

During his tenure the life division has become the key profit driver. The division increased its underlying net profit by 46% to $19.4 million in the December half, enabling the listed financial services group to achieve a 31% rise in first-half underlying net profit after tax to $16.3 million.
