Challenger names chief executive to head new customer division

Investment management firm Challenger has appointed Mandy Mannix as Chief Executive Customer, effective November 2.

She will lead the new Customer division, which the business established in May to oversee all customer functions for the group.

Ms Mannix has spent the last three years as GM for distribution at MLC’s Asset Management business.

“Leading our new Customer division, [she] will play an important role in expanding our offering and bringing the best of Challenger to more customers,” CEO and MD Nick Hamilton said.

“[Her] experience and leadership will support our building a more customer-focused business and developing closer partnerships across our institutional and retail customers here and abroad.”

Challenger, whose life business achieved an 18.4% rise in normalised pre-tax earnings to $472.3 million for the 2021/22 year, says the new Customer division will expand its market presence and offerings.

“We have an exciting opportunity to bring the best of Challenger to more customers,” Mr Hamilton said.

“To achieve that, we will expand our brand and deliver more products across a greater number of channels.

“We will also focus on our investment capability and operating platform to deliver more of what our customers need.”

Challenger also has a bank and funds management business.
