CALI shuffles board roles
The Council of Australian Life Insurers has announced MLC Life CEO and MD Kent Griffin will be its new co-chair, with three new directors also joining the board.
Mr Griffin will take over from former TAL Group CEO and MD Brett Clark following his appointment as Dai-ichi Life’s Asia-Pacific CEO.
He will share his responsibilities with AIA Australia CEO and MD Damien Mu.
Mr Griffin says he is proud to contribute to the council “as it continues to go from strength to strength”.
“It’s a pivotal time for our industry and CALI’s an essential part of driving better outcomes for the millions of people Australia’s life insurers serve every day,” he said.
Council CEO Christine Cupitt says Mr Griffin is a “wonderful fit for our board”.
The new directors are TAL Group CEO and MD Fiona Macgregor, Munich Re Australasia life CEO Nicolas Carro, and Challenger CEO of life and solutions Anton Kapel.
Pacific Life Re MD of protection Asia-Pacific and global strategy Tyson Johnston has stepped down from the board after two years.
The changes take the number of directors on the council’s board to 10.
