Brisbane-based Anthem Risk Management is the latest business to join life insurance specialist dealer group Bombora Advice.

Anthem founder and Principal David Murphy has been an adviser for more than 36 years, after starting his career in Newcastle.

In 1990 he moved to Atlanta in the US to advise high-net-worth individuals and business owners. Mr Murphy returned to Australia in 2007 and established Anthem.

He says principals must act on looming changes to the life industry.

“In this environment of change, financial advice principals are future-proofing their businesses through specialisation and mutually beneficial commercial alliances.

“These will be the keys to business success for professional advice practices in the future.”

Mr Murphy says his practice’s new insurance business has come from accountants with professional clients, and includes individual and business protection.
