CommInsure has appointed Elizabeth Baker as Head of Actuarial, Life.

She started the new role last week, reporting to CFO Ian Perera. Ms Baker, an Asia specialist, has relocated to Sydney from Singapore, where she was regional actuarial director at Aviva Asia.

She has also worked as Axa Asia general insurance regional CFO and Axa Life Japan financial controller.

“Liz brings a strong track record to this challenging role,” a CommInsure spokesman said.

“The Australian life insurance market is experiencing huge challenges and CommInsure will benefit from her diverse range of skills and experience.”

The company has also appointed Leigh Boekestein as Head of Actuarial, General Insurance.
