Baby Boomers have a super future
They may have been born into a very different world, but the nation’s Baby Boomers are expected to retire into the lap of luxury, according to a new report.
The accumulated wealth of the Baby Boomer generation is higher than expected, a report by the AMP National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling has found, with those aged from 45-65 enjoying high levels of home ownership and controllable debt.
Professor Ann Harding, who co-authored the report, says Baby Boomers are well-placed to enjoy their golden years.
Four out of five own their home, while many have accumulated wealth of $381,000 – nearly $100,000 more than the average net wealth of Australians.
