Axa sets advisers up in business

Axa Financial Planning is offering planners $150,000 in capital as an incentive to run their own businesses under the Axa umbrella.

An Axa Australia spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au the initiative offers financial planners the opportunity to be their own boss.

“If financial advisers branch out into their own business they would be able to earn more money than they would be earning in a salary position in a bank,” he said.

The initiative, which was launched last week, builds on a pilot program last year which launched several financial advisers into their own practices.

Axa has taken this plan up another notch by offering advisers a whole package to get them started, including a business plan, office branding, marketing and public relations activities and lead referrals.

The spokesman says the Axa initiative addresses the need for more advisers in the industry. “Despite the current financial situation we believe there is a shortage of financial advisers within Australia and within our network.”

InsuranceNEWS.com.au reported last month that Axa was recruiting financial planners from the UK and South Africa to offset the shortage of local talent.
